| When people encounter Ann Zemke’s quilts they usually ask if the quilting stitches were done by hand or with a sewing machine. Their next reaction is usually astonishment and disbelief when they move closer and marvel at her exquisite hand quilting. Yes, the majority of the quilts in the gallery were quilted by hand, and often the patchwork was pieced by hand, too! Ann Zemke has made over 150 quilts over the past 3 decades. The quilts in the gallery are a sampling of commissioned quilts which Ann has made or vintage quilts which she completed for customers; others are quilts which Ann enjoys in her personal collection.
